Sun peeks over the horizon, and these princesses are already awake. As the day begins, they hear the butler (uh, Neville) serving breakfast. But these princesses are served not just any breakfast. Instead of regular oats, picture a menu boasting a variety of culinary delights, organic grains from around the world served in a personalized feeder all prepared by a chef specialized in equine cuisine.
In the grooming area, there’s not just a brush; there’s a team of expert groomers (again Neville) equipped with silk brushes and golden combs, each stroke providing a massage-like sensation that could rival the hands of a master masseuse.
Morning means practice time! This isn’t just your run of the mill trot around the arena. Definitely not! It’s all about showing off that natural, easy-going gait on the lunge line, a lasso-like tether that lets them strut their stuff while their cowboy companion (yes, you guessed it, Neville) stands in the middle directing them like a maestro leading a symphony.
Lunch is a bit of a social affair. The girls get to graze on the tastiest Lucerne that can be found this side of the mountains. They chat with other horses and discuss the latest gossip about who got the shiniest coat treatment and whose mane is the envy of the stable. All the while it’s a chance to rest their hooves and envision themselves collecting the buckles and blue ribbons.
PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!
Post-lunch its back to practice. This time there are obstacle courses designed to challenge but never stress, triangle patterns to perfect along with their trainer (once again, Neville) who is dedicated to perfecting every graceful step. Then again lunging, for those that are not aware, the lunge line isn’t just about showing off; it’s about refinement. Fine-tuning that stride, perfecting those transitions, and winning over the judges with every graceful step.
After the practice session, there’s a massage therapist on standby, kneading away any tension, while a chiropractor checks if their alignment is as straight as the lines on their HIH triangles. The farrier pops in for a visit, ensuring their hooves are trendier than the latest designer shoes.
Then it’s time for supper, a banquet of horse delights that’d make any show pony jealous. Then, as the stars twinkle overhead, the girls drift into dreams of arena lights, garlands and extra pats from the human who knows them best, yes you guessed it, Neville.
And that my friend is a day in the life of a Yearling Versatility filly. A life of practice, precision, pampering and a whole heap of cowgirl dreams.
